I want an answer, not an explanation. - Most bosses

It took me a while to realize that most people who have others reporting to them want two things from their "subordinates":

Proving you have done the work does not mean you have to explain yourself. You are trusted with a task, and you are expected to execute it. In org-setting everything is purely utilitarian.

In casual interaction, everything is a discussion where you present arguments and counterarguments. However, in an organizational setting, you are a task executor.

You do not have to have open, in-depth discussions, challenges, insights, or even feedback to share. You just do what you are paid to do.
